It was a hot
one (for it still to be April), but Steelsports put on a great
race at Mineral Wells this last weekend and even with Richard's
pre-race routine including antibiotics and a nice fever, the
Mongrels pulled in a solid 1st place 4-coed finish ... be sure

Since Rattlesnake
racing's Fort Parker race was cancelled, The Mongrels are
gearing up to their next race at Mineral Wells on April 22 ...
sooner or later Richard will even catch up and actually do the
race reports from the last few races ... my apologies

Hypoxic Mongrels did a great job at Somer Breeze 2006,
placing in a solid 4th place

Richard is heading off to the South Pacific for three
weeks, but Damon and Nancy are planning on racing the Lake
Somerville 24 hour race on March 24 with a couple of members for
Team Hypoxic.

Robbers Cave was an absolute brute ... a little over 18 hours of racing, in below 20 degree rainy weather

The winter has been slow, but we are just about to get
started with another season of racing ... February 18th, we are
competing in Robbers Cave Adventure Race in OK. The
weather forecast predicts 20's and rain ... so this should be a
fun 24 hour race ...

Last night was the first annual MARC (Mongrels Adventure
Racing Conclave ... hehe, I just came up with that one) ...
really we just had some Mexican food, a couple of Margaritas and
talked about our goals for the 2006 season.
As the race calendars gets published over the next
few weeks, we will finalize which races we'll do, but the team
agreed that we will want to continue challenging ourselves,
enjoy each others company and see if we can't be
semi-competitive in the process.

The Mongrels just returned from
naARcs
- The North American Adventure Racing
Championship Series Regional
Championship, with another solid performance ... 3rd place
In addition, Chip and Jon also competed as a two-person male
team "Dos Mongrels" ... they finished in just less than 12 hours
with a solid 6th place overall

Richard is back from Costa Rica, newly married and
according to Scott much more comfortable on the bike now that
his "you-know-whats" have officially been removed

The Mongrels are in training, preparing for the regional
event of the year, the
naARcs Southwest Regional Championship
race at Holt River Ranch on December 3rd

A preliminary
release of our new Mongrels website is up and running ... hours
of work ... almost like an exhibition length adventure race ...
although there are still some missing items, be patient with us
and we will complete the rest over the next few weeks
