The Skinny:
A very competitive race with some of the best teams in the
region ... long river paddle, fun navigation and a perfect mix
of disciplines, largely navigated by "Zen" because Richard
forgot his compass and UTM plotter in the kayak
Who Raced:
Nicol Rodgers, Scott Ash, Jon Meyers and Richard Jensrud
Favorite Part:
With one team member having never paddled in his life and
using a single blade canoe paddle, we completed the first paddle
leg with Team STAR in our back the whole way ... unable to catch
us
(in a close second ... stopping to use the bathrooms at Wildcatter Ranch was quite a treat)
Least Favorite Part:
Listening to Jon complain about how much he hated paddling
... maybe we need to get that boy out in a kayak for a little
practice session once in a while
Funniest Moment:
After the first paddle leg, we commenced on a long trek
through Wildcatter Ranch, which Richard insisted we had to
complete with check points in order ... Nicol must have asked a
half a dozen times and we probably hit four check points before
Richard actually checked ... if looks could kill ... hehe
