In no particular order, the following race
promoters were all part of the Mongrels' extended 2005 season:

Throughout the year, the team participates in
lots of races that aren't part of our standard adventure racing
schedule
These are all great fun, a perfect way for anyone to get
involved in healthy physical activity and often an opportunity
for introduction into adventure racing
REI Texas State Championship Adventure
Race Series, Fort
Worth. June 25, 2005:
- This is a six race series in different TX
locations, with an individual race and series
component
- Two person teams, completes a combination
of trail run, mountain bike and kayak, but
without navigation
Pretty much the perfect introduction to the sport
The Mongrels participated with two teams:
- Mongrels (Richard Jensrud and Jessica Near)
5th Place Coed, Time - 1:23
- MongPups (Scott Ash and Tim Varner)
7th Place Male, Time - 1:23
Subaru Urban Assault, Dallas,
TX, May 22, 2005:
- Urban Bike Adventure Race in teams
of two
- Each team gets a list of checkpoints prior to
the race start, determine in what order they
want to hit each checkpoint and then on race
day completes the race course on bike
- Each checkpoint is a different special task ...
lots of fun stuff ... swimming, puzzles,
indoor navigation and many more
This race was so much fun and it certainly
didn't hurt that we got Chipotle burritos and a
beer or two after the race
Two teams represented The Mongrels:
Nicol Rodgers and Richard Jensrud
- 10th Place Coed (42 teams), Time - 3:56
Jon Meyers and Dan Drabinski
- 18th Place Male (33 teams), Time - 4:47
Thruston Summer Duathlon Series:
Dan Drabinsky, Jon Meyers and
Richard
Jensrud participated in several races in the
Thruston Duathlon series
The races are 2 miles run / 9.5 miles road
bike / 2 miles run ... all starting and finishing
at the Bath House at White Rock Lake, Dallas
These are highly competitive races and a great
way to add some diversity to our training routines
... especially during the otherwise quiet summer
months
