Race Progression:
1 - Special test: one
     person on bike, who
     was not allowed to use
     the pedals with the
     rest of the team
     pulling or pushing
2 - Bike (park roads to
     equestrian trails)
3 - Portage to lake paddle
4 - Run to rappel and
     climb
4 - Bike to hike
5 - Special test: in pairs,
     move a ball from the
     bottom of the
     amphitheater to the
     top and back without
     using hands and arms
6 - Hike to paddle, with
     portage return to TA
7 - Short hike
8 - Hike and Bike (2 on/2
     off)

The Skinny:
The team was rather apprehensive since two of us went into the race significantly below 100% ... some even taking antibiotics the morning of the race start. However, this turned out to be an extremely well put together race with just the right amount of physical challenge and some good navigation ... just the way we like it

Who Raced:
Nicol Rodgers, Dan Drabinski, Damon Farrar and Richard Jensrud ... with some great help from Damon's family and friends (Margeaux, Madison, Austin and Yuri) in the TA

Favorite Part:
As always, this depends on who you ask ... Nicol would probably say the first team event, which had the rest of the team pull and push Nicol down and then up the Trailway hill ... fun fun fun ;-)
However, I think we'd all agree that hitting the last couple of CPs on the second trek leg quickly enough to pass HART's team and head out on the final hike and bike leg with a ten minute lead ... after having gone back and forth with HART all day, that was sweet (our congratulations goes out to HART for an awesome competitive spirit and some fun banter)

Least Favorite Part:
Other than Richard having some heat issues after the long hike, this was pretty much as smooth as they come ... one of those races you'd consider starting over again right after you cross the finish line

Funniest Moment:
Watching Dan and Nicol crawl on all four trying to get a ball up the seats of the amphitheater with their heads ... when all they had to do is bring the ball up to their chest and just walk it up between the two of them ... maybe a little too much brawn and not enough brains ... but hey, Damon and Richard wasn't going to ruin their fun ;-)
